Since the company’s founding in 2014, SwitchDin has partnered with customers, industry leaders and technology vendors to pioneer the operational backbone of the world’s energy transition.

Foundation
SwitchDin was founded in 2014 with the inception of the Droplet, laying the groundwork for future DER flexibility solutions.

2016
Expansion and Flexibility
SwitchDin began work on remote network projects, enhancing connectivity and control, and implemented solar flexibility solutions in South Australia and Western Australia, establishing a reputation for excellence in DER management.

Pioneering VPPs and Microgrids
Partnership with Origin Energy to develop a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) initiative and contributed to the development of the Onslow Microgrid, showcasing capabilities in microgrid technology.

Advancing Smart Grids
Participation in the Alice Springs Future Grid project, advancing smart grid solutions, collaborated with Simply Energy on a VPP project, enhancing grid stability and energy efficiency, and launched Flexible Exports, a groundbreaking technology for optimized energy distribution. First implementation of CSIP-AUS.

DERs Integration & Industry Leadership
SwitchDin engaged in Project Symphony, focusing on integrating DERs into the energy market, and became a member of the Rocky Mountain Institute's Virtual Power Plant Partnership (VP3), underscoring industry leadership.

Expansion
Flexible Exports transition from pilot to production, proving its viability and effectiveness, expanded into the electric vehicle sector, broadening the scope of renewable energy solutions, and increased presence in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors, addressing large-scale energy needs.
