SwitchDin has been selected for its virtual power plant management platform as one of the top 100 energy startups from around the world through the German Energy Agency’s (dena) and World Energy Council’s Startup Energy Transition program.

The SET100 is a shortlist of the best applicants to the Startup Energy Transition Award 2019. As a SET100 startup, SwitchDin will exhibit at the 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi in September.

While this year’s SET100 companies were primarily from Europe (53 companies), North America (16) and Africa (11), Australia is impressively overrepresented with six companies besides SwitchDin - including electricity retailer DC Power Co and used battery up-cyclers Relectrify - having made the list.

“With the 100 top international start-ups in the field of energy transition and climate protection, the #SET100 list is both an encouraging and fascinating proof that energy transition and climate protection can succeed,” said Andreas Kuhlmann, dena Chief Executive.

“The companies on the #SET100 list show how we can move forward with innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s up to us what we make of it. With the SET initiative, we offer promising start-ups an international platform to become better known and attract investors and other supporters. Many start-ups of the past years are already very successful today. We are delighted about their groundbreaking commitment and will continue to support them in the future,” Kuhlmann said.

SwitchDin will provide further details about our involvement in the initiative as they become available.
